So there’s going to be an !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which would be a nice compliment to the all-women’s air race that goes back before Prohibition was repealed and women being able to vote was a relatively new thing.

Originally known as the “Powder Puff Derby” it was an air race started by many of the prominent female pilots of the time, including Amelia Earhart, to provide a racing venue for female pilots when male-dominated air races barred them entry. It was originally just a one-time thing in 1929, but after WWII it became a semi-regular racing event until !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! put a stop to it. However, a new organized series of women-centric air races simply known as the Air Race Classic was organized immediately afterwards that continues to this day.
